In 2001 Sky Sports was expanding rapidly and studio space was at a premium. With up to three programmes a day in some studios we had little time to get one set out and another in. We desperately needed a solution that would enable us to change the whole look and feel from programme to programme without striking the set.

The solution was the Generic Set, a modular system with interchangeable graphic panels. The set can grow to incorporate a tactics or analysis area it can be dressed with different flooring, and furniture. It accommodates one presenter and up to three guests with precise control of what appears in the close ups or singles. The modules are suitable for a two man lift and run on wheels when tilted, for easy manoeuvring.

So successful has this award winning design been, that we built 6 complete sets, all of which are still in use today. Here is a short time lapse movie to demonstrate its versatility.
